Changing

What if I never ate, would I lose weight?

Would everything be great?

What if I dyed my hair a different color?

Blonde, brown, or red?

Would I be prettier?

Or is it all in my head?

Should I change myself for others?

Or stay the way I am, looking like my mother?

Why do I feel that I need to be perfect?

When the world itself, is imperfect.

Everywhere I turn change happens around me,

and there is no silence in my thoughts because of my phone screen.

I swipe through photos and photos of perfect human beings,

discarding myself as some thing.

And I should stop.

Maybe I don't need to change anything.

I need to change my thoughts.

I need to change my soul, and my heart.

And then, maybe just maybe, I can truly see

that I was beautiful since the beginning.
