Changing is Easier Than You Think
For some reason,
people think it is impossible to change
While I have honestly found it to be easy,
As it has happened multiple times
Over a the short lifetime of fourteen years
When I was younger I was just
A run-of-the-mill child,
obsessed with toys and fun and snow
Always ready for some kind of fun
Even though I cried sometimes
At the simplest of things
Then a year passed by sooner than expected,
And the reflection I had changed
From run-of-the-mill
To a lonely little one who read of adventure
quieter then a church mouse
as others pushed me away
And never let me play
If I even wanted to
This was the limbo in which I lived for years
Not really existing compared to others,
Until suddenly I decided to exist
But went about it all the wrong ways
And did more harm than good
Chasing possible friends away
But what kind of people were they
If they couldn't accept someone
A little different than them?
What I was after that
is what I am today,
And while words are my greatest solace,
It is now much more appealing to write out
My own words for others to enjoy
For I have no greater thrill
Then seeing people affected by what
I write for them or about them
It would take a total fool to think
That I have not changed as I grew
I know each day that I am about
To change into something new quite soon
And though I do not know what
Exactly what will change
It will be easy as all the others before it
And so it shall be to the end of my days
