Changing Points of View

In life,

we tend to take things

for granted

far too often

the food on your table

the blankets on your bed

the clothes in your closet

the heat warming your house

such simple things;

we use them on the daily

yet, they always seem to be taken for granted

not everyone is like this

not everyone can afford these things

not everyone can say they’re financially stable

no, not everyone.

A homeless shelter;

it doesn’t offer the best food or clothes

it doesn’t offer the comfiest bed

but, it’s a home to many.

Whether temporary

Or long run:

it’s somebody’s

home.

Here, you’ll find the most grateful people.

There is sorrow and sadness inside

but it is often hidden

by their smile on the outside

Yes, they’re battling

but aren’t we all?

“This is just a tough stage in life”

one resident says

But seeing how genuinely happy

Someone can get

Over just one slice of pizza

Can really make your day
