Changing World
The world is different now,
Everything is changing.
Every minute someone dies,
The world Cries.
Empty promises filled with lies.
Everyone wishing to be famous,
Not I.
Me,
I'm wishing for tomorrow.
That I don't end up dead on a street corner at Fifteen.
We're only kids, but it's cool to get high.
Get naked and do what we think makes us adults.
Life is precious and we waste it on flag colors,
Red, Blue, and Yellow.
My flag is White.
I want to wave my flag of peace and have everyone follow me.
Put down the swords and stop the killing before the oceans turn red.
Who knows one day it might be you or your friend laying there dead.
Parents burying their kids so often people stop thinking twice.
That the boy in the casket was only Sixteen when he lost his life.
Slain by a man wearing a different color.
Didn't know the kid, but was quick to pull the trigger.
Never thinking maybe he had a family at home.
A little brother, baby sister,
That would miss him when he's gone.
Man the world's changing,
But I won't sit back and watch.
I'm going to fight to make a difference for all the children that it's lost.
