Changing The World

If I could change one thing
In my life,
In my community,
In the world,
What would I choose?

Change can mean so many things
I could change my hair color,
I could change my house size,
I could change my town library,
I could change world hunger,
I could change my family's financial status,

However the one thing
I have always wanted to change
Is the racial issue around the world

In the US today the way you are treated
Is based off the color of your skin.
The society we live in supports stereotypes.

In my high school as you walk through
you can see groups of people
of the same races
hanging out

Rarely do you see everyone talking
just for the sake of talking

I wish I could change the thoughts about
race that people have all over the world
I wish I could change the way people are treated
I wish that people all over the world
were equal
