Chaos
Chaos, chaos, rain down hard, rage forward –
What has become of the smile I once had?
Of the future I had to work toward –
Lost in the echo of the past, so sad.
Either no one sees, or no one can care –
Suffering alone, with only my thoughts
Does the sun still shine somewhere, anywhere?
Watching as everything in the dark rots.
I have to wait for how many more years?
All these numbers used to seem so soothing.
What more can I do, cry one thousand tears?
I love, I try, I live; all to nothing.
Count for the future and count for the past;
And perhaps good things are to come at last.
