Charge
There the army masses,
Across the bare and bloody plain
Preparing its troops for one final push
The one to finish us off.
I ready myself, knowing this must be the end.
Were out numbered a thousand to one,
my men are losing heart.
Why are we here?
What misconception brought us here?
Would it not have been easier to lay down our weapons and surrender?
I see a man through the crowd on his knees,
Face toward the sky,
Hands spread out in a desperate cry.
And suddenly I remember why we have pushed this hard on a seemingly hopeless campaign.
GOD!!!
Please, please forgive me for ever doubting!
Fire this purpose inside my soul again
And create in me a new heart,
That I might forever live this purpose.
Renew steadily the mind you have given me,
May my endless curiosity never be satisfied.
Continually hiding Your words in my heart,
That my shield may never falter,
My shield created of the faith I have in You.
My head covered in the security of Your salvation,
I take my place at the head of the line.
My faith in You
My life a willing testament of Your ceaseless grace,
I therefore buckle truth around my waist,
that I might not be taken in by hollow deceptions and lies.
You are the light to my path,
Guiding my feet to lead more in Your gospel,
I find my feet shod with your peace.
My chest warms as Your righteousness settles within me,
I tighten my breastplate.
And finally taking up the only weapon that will get us through this,
The words You gave to us,
Sharper then any weapon, ever.
CHARGE!!!
