Charlie
Trust is my little pet Charlie
I walk him, I feed him, I bathe him.
I love Charlie.
If I let you hold Charlie,
I trust you.
Simple as that, right?
But when I go,
Take care of Charlie.
He means a lot to me,
And I would love for you two to get along.
Remember, he needs attention and likes shiny things.
Charlie isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
He doesn’t know what’s good for him.
So be careful, he likes sharp things.
Take care of Charlie.
He’s small and fragile,
But he’s adventurous and friendly.
You two would get along.
Talk to him, he won’t bite.
Speak honesty and he’ll love you,
Speak lies and it’ll hurt him.
Lies are as sharp as knives that cut where it hurts most.
He does know that you’re doing this to him.
Take care of Charlie, he’ll really like you.
He sees the scars but doesn’t think much of them.
He thinks of the first time you both met,
He thinks of you at your best.
But when I come back and see if you hurt him,
I won’t be happy.
How can I forgive the pain Charlie went through?
I’ll have to take him back and he won’t ever see you again.
I’ll have to wait for his scars to heal,
I’ll have to wait.
So take care of Charlie.
He’s all I have.
I want him the way he is,
So don’t think that lying will help you because I’ll notice a new scar.
Sure, time can heal the best of wounds
And lies can be big or small,
But scars tell a lot of stories
Like how they don't look the same.
