The Charm of the Cold

Location

Summer falls as fall arrives:

Crisp, cool air and crunchy, dead leaves.

Smells of hollowed-out pumpkins, bringing extra sparkle

to a perfectly gray sky.

It is time for the most wonderful time of the year.

Fires roar as cocoa coats lips

And friends reminisce and make new memories

The decorations. The delicateness.

I leap into piles of orange-red-brown pillows

Flap my arms to make snow angels

Arrange ornaments just right - so our tree is anything but ordinary

As I savor every moment of simplicity the season brings,

I keep it close to my heart.

Protected by fondness and love

Until the next gloomily gleeful day.
