Charred Heart
Ecstasy clouded my mind,
as he held my bloody heart in his charred hands.
I wasn't ugly anymore,
as blood gushed from the wound in my chest.
His smile was as bright as the sun,
as my heart turned black in his hands.
Slowly his smile faded,
as he threw my blackened heart back at me.
I gripped my heart in my hands,
as its beating began to slow.
I was ugly once again,
as the blood still flowed.
