Chasing Rainbows

Talking is easy but I don’t speak

Some of the most wonderful things

grow from silence and solitude

Loneliness is painful but I don’t weep

a forest’s bony fingers beacon to the sun’s rays

they find nurture

with no criticism or praise

and hold the whole world together

Dreaming is easy but I don’t sleep

I would rather be a tree

than to chase rainbows
