Chasing Youth

Why do we think it’s so bad?

The best thing I have ever had

I was selfish and dumb

Not knowing the true outcome

I was young and carefree

Thinking nothing could stop me

Feeling on top of the world

But not knowing I was in a dream world

Now I am young but not carefree

Life is like a boulder rolling right at me

I try everything to get out of the way

If only I was more thankful yesterday

I was always in a rush to grow up

But I wasn’t ready for that bitter cup

I would give anything to be young again

And all I can do now is complain

Wishing to be rid of responsibilities

And once again have that tranquility

Sadly, it’s too late for wishes

And Life will continue to be vicious

Don’t run from you youth

One day it will be the one thing you won’t be able to catch
