Chasm

I see them smiling and laughing

Wishing I was with them

Wishing they could see me

Two steps away

I see them enjoying their lives

Wanting to taste that air

Wanting to be there

Two feet away

I see those smiling faces

Praying to go meet them

Wanting to smile as well

Two yards away

I hear their lovely chit-chat

Trying to find a way

To make it to them

Two miles away

The Chasm is infinite

Never ceasing, expanding

Constantly separating

Though I'm 2 steps away
