Chattering

The temperature was chillyNothing more, nothing lessThe sounds of their voices          soft and muffled,            steady, yet scared. But it was a constant hummingStopping for the blink of an eye          or an itch of the nose.Stretching into the late hours of the night. The time was lost, so long ago        that by now, it was completely unknown.
