From a Cheerleader's Point of View
Most say we are snobby, rude, conceited and preppy
Students that are uneducated with no common sense
Some say our uniforms are simply skimpy
But what they don't know is that we don't settle for less
The treatment we get is not as it seems
Apparently we are a group of sluts
Those stares in the hallway are nothing but gleams
At what they think I'm all about is completely nuts
Attention getters is what we are
Thinking we are popular and bomb
People's beliefs are that we won't go far
And only reach out for a Pom Pom
Many movies portray us as only white girls
Sleeping with the football and basketball team
We tend to say "she makes me wanna hurl"
But this is another extreme
Cheer isn't a sport because we don't do much
Our routines are simple and contain no skill
We are wimpy and weak with a soft touch
But the truth is we are fierce with a kill
We will continue to carry that Blackhawk pride
Where ever we will go
Everything we have learned will not subside
Especially when the wind may blow
They have no idea how much their negative talk hurts
But in the end my team and me will come out on top
These stereotypes are easy to dust off my skirt
As they encourage me not to drop
The truth is I am in a sport called Cheerleading and I will be successful in life!
