Chelsea

I see you looking at your reflection.

Seeing you get lost in the white lines.

You let the voices in your head take control of you.

How did it come to this addiction?

I remember when you full of happiness.

You were only getting out of college.

A bright future ahead and a loving man on your side.

Hoping to have a happy ending someday.

Nothing can ever go wrong.

But then it happened.

When you get home one night, you found your parents on the floor.

Without a sign of life.

You called 9-1-1 to come.

As the scene started to unfold,

The sheriff came to you to tell you what happened.

He whispered, “You’re parents have been murdered.”

Afterwards You spent many restless nights.

You told me that whenever you closed your eyes,

You saw the faces of you parents.

With their eyes looking at you.

With no way out of this despair,

You found the solution.

Being over the influence.

Being mind controlled by white sand.

With one deep breath,

You inhaled the lines that would only enslave you.

You said to me that it stopped the images from coming into your mind.

But, it only cloaked them.

I see you looking at your reflection.

Seeing you get lost in the white lines.

You let the voices in your head take control of you.

Taking over your feelings.

Your addiction hit its limit one day.

I was there as you yelled, “Get away from me.”

You said that your parents were behind me.

That is when you fell to your death.

Your addition came to reuniting you with your parents.

Both in the sky and six feet under.

I will always remember you as the girl with the smile.

The girl who had her happy ending.
