Chemicals
Phospate, nitrogen, and sugar
Entwined in ropelike spindles
A, T, G, C, four bases
We are chemicals.
Millions of combinations
Four letters to make it all
In a double helix it's bound
We are chemicals.
Hair colour and skin tone
Intelligence and drive
Are we unique?
Just chemicals.
Math, science, history
Careers and obstacles
Do we have knowledge?
Just chemicals.
Wealth and riches
Power, glory and fame
Do we have dreams?
Just chemicals.
Jealousy and hate
Hopelessness, despair, and strife
Do we feel pain?
Just chemicals.
Love and sincerity
Personality, admiration, loyalty
Do we feel?
Just chemicals.
Full of truth and fire
Everlasting, eternal life
Do we have a soul?
Just chemicals.

Just chemicals.
