Cherished Fool

Cherish me when I’m an absolute fool,
Not when everyone loves me.
Cherish me when I’m the epitome of graceless,
Not when I’m dripping of suave coyness.
Cherish me when I’ve erred,
Not when I’m flawless.
Cherish me when you dislike my art,
Not when it’s exactly what you expected.
Cherish me when you’re surprised I’m ignorant,
Not when I give you an answer.
Cherish me when I scare you,
Not when I’m your hot shoulder.
Cherish me when you’re confused,
Not everyone I know is supposed to love me.
