Cherry Avenue

The sun-baked cement crumbles into sunken holes, scarring the street.

But I find the neighbor's flowers beautiful.

The sound of mad dogs rattling their fences, and stange men asking for attention.

But I find comfort from the music in my headphones.

Every day and every night I walk this route, straight to the bus stop and back.

But every time it's different.

In a world that moves fast, the road is still and there's time before 7:42.

I walk leisurely, reflecting on the moment I have and the road ahead.

And that is what inspires me.
