Like the Cherry Blossom Tree
Love is like the cherry blossom tree
A living thing is what Love can be
Tender, small— but ever growing
Soft as bending light, deeper than the rivers flowing
Hope is like the cherry blossom tree
Strong and flourished is what Hope can be
A dash of light in the dark northern skies
A glimpse of a brighter future that forever flies
Wisdom is like the cherry blossom tree
Old and fabled is what Wisdom can be
Locked in the ages throughout all time
Lost in the past but still marches the straight line
Courage is like the cherry blossom tree
Persistent against the elements is what Courage can be
Tall and flighty, it branches slender long
Whistling the merry tune in the face of darkness strong
Many a face the cherry blossom tree has had throughout the years
A sign of the ancients; a beauty that does not feature the gears
Happiness is what is seen in the cherry blossom tree
Though not even time can make it from the world free
Because Sadness is like the cherry blossom tree
Standing alone in the wind is what Sadness can be
Because Anger is like the cherry blossom tree
Red flaring flowers in the moonlight is what Anger can be
Because Fear is like the cherry blossom tree
Shaking cold in the night is what Fear can be
Because Life and Death are like the cherry blossom tree
Dead grey and colorful still are what Life and Death can be
The cherry blossom tree represents everything in its waking
Every petal fallen is another risk it was taking
Breathing for breath in the cold endless nights
Whispering songs as its blossoms take flight
The cherry blossom tree is the heart; that is afraid of breaking
It is the soul, down to its roots, that fights all the shaking
It is the mind, that fears for the memories of life to be lost
This is the cherry blossom tree; alive in Spring’s sun, but frozen dead by Winter’s frost
