Cherry Blossom Trees

Life is like a cherry blossom tree

The spring rich, golden, and free

The leaves learn the sound of the rain

And knowledge becomes an irreversible stain

Alas! Too soon the leaves do fall

And youth becomes a distant call

Winter’s cold does bite thy bones

Till all transform into gray gravestones

So do not waste your time on earth

And revel in your joyous birth

For far too soon all will end

And all blossoms do descend
