Chet
Careful tiptoes cross the mountain's thrashing side
One wrong step is the difference between life and death
Oh, the thrill of having your inner voice telling you no
as the adventure must continue up
Wet, blond hair whips across my forehead
A devious smile appears on my face
Lean legs smash against colossus
Teeth chatter as temperature continues to drop
Hands strain to hold on to the wiggly rocks
Thump! Thump! Went my racing heart
Thoughts spiraled through my mind,
I am not going to make it
Gasping for air became difficult
My eyes scanned the horizon
Dark clouds covered most of the mountains below
I look up at the peak
My hand grasp for a rock above
It is my turn to show this mountain what I am made of
Living everyday on the edge is the world to me
Instead of showing the world what I am made of,
I show myself what I am made of!
I only get to live on Earth once!
