chewed up

like gum that has been sitting in your mouth for to long

it had lost its flavor and grown bitter

it started out so soft, sweet bubble gum

yet worn down by extensive chewing it has become tough

you refuse to spit it out, to scared to lose them, they still mean so much

but eventually, as pent up hatred does
