Like a Child

Her disco ball shoes sparkle and glow like the dance floor on prom night,

Innocent until further notice.

She dances careless with dark brown ringlets bouncing across the nape of her neck,

A mess in the making.

A made up song spills from her lips like a glass of milk that has just been knocked over,

Think and aimless.

She speaks to an imaginary being as though he was the highlight of her world.

Admiration promotes determination.

To watch her is like watching whay they call an alien on T.V.,

She is strange and unexplained.

I am jealous of her careless ways, like a monster jealous of the gentle.

She is able to feel much more than I ever could, and she's only a few years of experience.

I learn from her more than I could ever teach in years, because she learns without thinking.

She learns without trying, her brain absorbs the knowledge.

The knowledge she will one day share with the world.

She learns like a child.
