To A Child
To a child the world is flawless
A story told by one fairytale at a time
The world is endless
To a child the world is a perfect dream
Smiles and laughter make up a child’s heart
Asking a child,
before time changed,
What evil was?
What demons look like
A child could only share a face of confusion
On the moment the world changed her rotation
Their innocent eyes were opened to the cruelty this world can hold
Unwillingly
Destroying the purity and the fairytales.
Shattering the dream
The evil this world can bore
Being forced to see
It was unfair
Are the angels out numbered?
An army of demons, they restlessly must fight.
Bearing witness to not what they knew.
The grown falling to their knees
Raging screams of cries.
Tears of anger
Curses at GOD
It was not only a day of heavy scars
It was the day a child’s world was whipped clean
Eyes stained with frightened tears
To a child there is no such thing as war
To a child there is no such thing as fear or death
To a child no blood is ever slipped.
Only laughter and smiles to be described
The world is only an illusion now
From growing up in war and anger and fear
Once a child of purity and selfish innocence,
Full of clueless smiles and joys
To a child the world was a story
Told by one fairy tale at a time.
