The Child Awakes

Im not really sure whats been wrong with me lately

Ive been slumped, clocking out on the daily

this past year has shoved me down

got me deep in the dirt

this was the first time I ever saw my mama hurt

my heart shrivels

turns black and green

I didn’t know that the world could ever be this mean

looking around now I see, that people betray you sometimes even family

my papas eyes, they don’t look the same

his smile, its just all apart of the game

The game the world plays, with the words spreading around

but never truly reaching the ground

sweeping people off their feet,

until there heels are bare and turn to raw meat

things don’t make sense, not like before

I miss the times when I was a child cluelessly knocking at the door
