To the child Jesus
Why comest Thou Child - God
To earth in a humble home?
Does fortune already Thee scorn
When hardly Thou hast come?
Oh! How sad! Of Heaven King
And come Thee like common man!
Than Shepherd of Thy flock
Won't Thou rather be Sovereign?
