A Child of The King

If you take away the lights,

If you turn off the camera,

If you close my laptop,

Who do I become?

If I was sent out into the world

With my six-string on my back

Where would I turn?

Who would I be?

Music became my life

Helped me meet the God I love

If I was sent out into the world,

I would turn to he who is in ME

I want people to see God’s light in ME;

Yet, there is a struggle within.

What if I’m ridiculed by THEM?

I must search for the power within.

Without God

I am empty.

Without Music

I am empty.

I Am Empty without them

I am the chisel,

My Guitar is the stone.

God is carving who I am to this day.

If you take away the lights,

If you turn off the camera,

If you close my laptop,

Who am I?

The answer is simple.

I am a child

But not just any child

I am a child of God

And I use the gifts he gave me for him

I am a child.
