Childhood

Going back to childhood would be best,

all my toys placed in my toy chest.

Hiding and waiting for tomorrow's play,

while we were in our bed tucked away.

Morning came, time to get dressed,

while the toys came to life from last nights rest.

Brothers would come and try to play,

we wouldn't let them, we'd shoo them away.

Hide-and-go-seek was the best game to play,

sitting in the closet hiding from the day.

When mother called, "time to eat,"

we hurried out, quick with our feet.
