Childhood

I remember when I was younger I wouldn’t really see you

As I got older, our days would shorten

Hey I’ll see you tomorrow you would say

But I would find myself waiting in empty arms and broken promises

You would buy my love with materialistic items

But I didn’t need that. My heart longed for you. For us to reunite

While I played with the gifts you’d bring me, I could hear you screaming and arguing with mom

Whats wrong? I’d ask

But you would only answer with a nod

Little did I know I would never see you again

Texts and calls is all I would get

I wanna see you please

I need you

Return my calls please

But I wasn’t wrong, you just didn’t want to talk to me

Although I don’t remember much from my childhood, all that I longed for was my sister
