Childish Things

Location

I was a child once with childish things.

Pink glossamer gowns with lipsticks the color of glittery candy

Delicate Tea sets

and dolls who were both beautiful and unreal.

Then I was a child with childish things.

And as they say all good things come to an end.

Later I was a child in an adults world.

Dressed in skirts and blouses, the tiara now gone

lips the color of a blushing rose

gone were the delicate tea cups

replaced by black sludge that is an adult drink called called coffee.

gone are the dolls whose beauty was unreal in their once matching pink gowns.

All replaced by a love  niether he or I realizes as false, as childs play.

All of which that was mine is gone.

Replacing the pink teddy bear with a living breathing man who is truly never to be mine.

His wedding band, lies there on my bed side table.

It is a mans world.

Where there is no room for childish things.

Where even though he is mine, he was never so even with a last name that matches.

No longer that is all pink and delicate is welcome here,

It is a mans world,

He was never mine for I was never beautiful .
