Childish Woman

I was a child trapped inside of a growing woman’s body

I was naive, stubborn, selfish

I only cared about what I thought I wanted

Never really caring about myself

I gave myself away to those I thought would treat me right

I was susceptible to what they wanted

I thought I was grown

I thought I was sexy

I thought I was safe in their arms

I thought I was in love

Fantasy overruled the reality

Until him

It was a night full of danger

A night full of splendor

A night of misbehavior

A night of drunken stupor

He pulled my clothes off

Against my wishes

But with my body weak

Defeated I took it

That night I grew up

That night I knew what I had done

I stopped acting as if the world bowed down to me

That night I was bowed before to the world
