Childlike Innocence

I got an A on my math test, daddy. Aren't you proud of me? See how hard I studied, daddy? The studying paid off. I waited all day to show you How well I'm doing in school. I knew to would be proud of me. Grandma and Grandpa were proud of me, My teacher was proud of me, Brothers Adam and Martin were proud of me, But mommy wasn't. I showed her my test but she was silent. I think she misses you too much. All she does is lay in bed, Day after day. I hope she will get up. She needs to get up. She lays in bed all day With beeping noises filling the room. How can she sleep all day with that noise? Doesn't it annoy her? Grandma says its the cancer, But I just think she misses you. I gave her your flag to help her miss you less, But it didn't help. She wants to be with you.
