Children's Hospitol


My father says that I’m fine He says with a tear in his eye When we get on a plane He suddenly strains From bursting into a cry They say I have a bad heart So I need to go to D.C So that they may start Operating on me The children’s hospital is big A little scary for a kid But I need to be here My dad says don’t fear The sliding door begins to skid I walk into a room Filled with worried eyes A white cloak is my boon If I am not to die The bright fluorescent lights glared The beeping computer sounds blared They put a mask on my face So I would not wake I whispered to my dad that “I’m scared” I sleep but do not dream The doctors open up my chest My heart suddenly bleeds I didn’t need to hear the rest I awake in a white room My dad looks at me with gloom But he begins to perk up When he sees that im up He suddenly slides out of his doom Down my chest there is now a scar But from ungrateful I am far
