child's game of love

the question still lingers in the air:

what kind of game do you think love is?

you hurt me, i cried

i hurt you, yet i am the one crying

what a plot twist you are, to turn my life upside down

skipping beats, my heat is trying to catch up

my mind racing in the wrong direction

whatever your plan, i am no longer a playing character

once the pawn, i was discarded from your game to move onto a better place

i am no longer your marionette, you hold no control over me

i've moved on from your game of love to the game of life
