Child's Play

We're in the park, at seven years old.

The game: hide and seek.

"FIVE! FOUR! THREE! TWO! ONE!"

The children had scattered. Everybody

  wedged into some odd place.

"Ready or not, here I come!"

Dylan is found under the slide

  (Jessie is missed underneath a pile of coats).

The game was almost done by 6;

two hiders remained.

"Billy, are you ready for dinner?"

Play time being over is signlaed

by the voicees of single mothers out of apartment doors

and street lights turning on.

I used to have an account under the name "The Frozen Arsonist" when I was a teenager and just wanted to start over, but you can check that out if you want to see earlier content
