Chin Up
Finish the summer replenish the winter
Hidden up front you're behind the winner
The winner is you
What will you do
When the rim gets higher...
and you miss every shot that you shoot
The fighter in you
Fights only when fighting has rules
The right kind of tool
Can be seen through the eyes
of a mother that cries
The same kind of tool
That keeps us alive
Another reply
For the weak in the mind
If you
Survive
The weekend
Then we can decide
Which would you rather decline?
Another few minutes or two of your life
Or a lifetime of shine
Where the lights are too bright for your eyes
Where people are hungry so they take your pie
Then wonder why you don't confront or deny
I guess it's alright
Since we go way back when
We were in straight jackets
Actin like fools
Matched accents and
Laughed at other people trying to be cool
Playin tag was a habit
Days passed now they're askin
What happend?
Movin fast from the past
Where's the napkin?
Tears dried fears died like the match did
When it dropped in the fountain of truth
They found it in you
When the town heard the news
They said you left your shoes
At the top of a stoop
In a coup full of chickens
All was missin
Was the proof
Distance is a gift from reality to you
Find the balance in the two
Don't be mad if you're not approved
Just be glad you're being you.
