A Choice

Given the choice
between life and death
I would choose death.
I’m sick of fighting

the demons in my head.
I would feel

no pain,
and maybe for once
I could feel happy
again.
There is nothing left

for me here.
I want to leave this place

and never return.

Though thinking it through,
I understand
why everyone says
life is beautiful.
Beyond the hell,
there is beauty.

There is life
love
happiness
and joy.

Given the choice
between life and death,
I would choose
life.
