Choice and Intentions

We live great lives of complexity

With choices in all directions

The path that our journey resides upon

Is paved by our intentions

This path has several ups and downs

With many ditches and holes.

It may be very far from perfect,

But this is how life unfolds.

We all wish for a better path

Our own Yellow Brick Road.

But prosperity does not come easily

There’s a riddle you must decode:

What will you do for success?

How much will you sacrifice?

Success demands your pain

Much more than you can suffice.

Some will surrender then

Unraveling at the tear of a seam

They will sit on the couch and wish

Triumph being merely a dream

But some will rise above the weak

And commit themselves to the grind

They’ll work dead-hard and determined

To achieve what they have in mind

These are the leaders of society

Breaking through walls of impossible

Pushing the boundaries of humanity

With desire to be unstoppable

What are you doing with your life?

Where’s your mark in history?

For, the ones labeled as legendary

Had first endured the misery

So don’t give in to pain

Resist the urge to relent

‘Cause the fate you so heartily desire

Relies on your intent
