The Choice to Voice
My personal thoughts, my voice
All I need is to make my choice
To tell myself to stay calm, to stay focused... to stay
It's the price I can't afford to pay
for my voice to be whisked away
My anxiety persuades me to leave
I pull up my sleeve
just to see the scar
from the wound of destruction that seems so far
I try to tell myself "I am enough"
but it becomes too tough
My anxiety corrupts my happiness
All that's remaining is emptiness
They ask me if I am okay
a smile is what I portray
No one can see the source
of this distress inflicted by Anxiety's force
My personal thoughts, my voice
I have made my choice
One way is to stay
Why can't I go away?
I keep saying I'll pray
It's my choice
to put my personal thoughts to voice
