Choices

I had a choice today.

To stand up for something I never thought about before and walk out with my head held high.

or continue to sit and be stared at with cold, judgemental eyes.

But then you start thinking

"this won't do anything, my choice elicits no change"

But what if women and blacks thought the same?

"How do I make a choice between my hard-won reputation and the new fad that we latched on"

My mind is split in two, I don't know how to choose.

Do whats right for something I have no passion in, or do whats right for myself?

If I'm honest in these words I'd say none of these kids care much anyway.

But how could I know?

"there are more effective ways, you will get in trouble if you walk out"

Are those just excuses I tell myself so I don't change?

It's a simple problem, really. how come then my mind won't stop reeling.
