Choices and ...

Psalm 73:3

3 For I was envious of the boastful,
When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Job 9:4

4 God is wise in heart and mighty in strength.
Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?

Chosen to be lost ... defined in will by self

Part of you stands helplessly watching you pass on

Like a morning frost melting on a shelf

as you so religiously keep dabbling on

A little sin here and there ... always compromise

Selling out for little to nothing

Fulfilling your wants and always throw the dice

Hoping that it’ll bring you something

Slipping down a road where you should be walking

So that at least if wanted you could turn around

Wasting precious time by lots of useless talking

And in such thinking that you’re Heaven bound

Doubling the load on the shoulders of another

Conscience being hardened slowly into stone

Unconsciously bowing at the altar there to smother

Your guilty feelings in existence for self all alone

You really know better ... there is no excuse

You make your choices ignoring good advice

You just would not listen in your self-abuse

Searching for acceptance from all at any price

Anything that’s free you really did not desire

Satisfied only if you could take it by force

Now your estate is empty and overrun in mire

And even now excuses keep you from remorse
