Choose.

life is hard, difficult,

and tragic.

but how you face it is your choice.

you can smile and trudge on

or clench your fists and yell.

if life were simple, easy,

and perfect.

there would be no

pain

sorrow

mistakes

and evil.

if life were simple,

we would not have happiness

because unhappiness would

never have existed.

how can we have a good day if there are

are no bad days.

if we lose the downs and keep the ups,

all we have is a straight line.

rigid, inflexible, and predictable.

life is hard, difficult,

and tragic

because we see it that way.

we have a choice to

see the downs as ups,

the bad days as good ones,

and unhappiness as happiness.

we have a choice to see past

the current troubles and look

forward to the future success.

if life were easy,

we would all be

neither happy

nor sad

simply

indifferent
