Choosing My Own Path

I am intrepid

Forward is the way I go

I fear nothing

Though I may take it slow

Life runs by in the blink of an eye

And I would be ignorant to not show

Who I am

On the inside

Rules are just outlines to abide by

And if I reach my full potential

I will be sky high

Breaking barriers and vowing 

Not to just slide by

I am intrepid 

And though I may be slow 

I run faster now

Because I know where to go

I follow my own path

And I do not need shown 

Where others want me be

I run by and I see

The past is in the past 

And I am not in need 

Of others opinions 

I will be just fine

My fear is gone now

And I will not hide
