Chosen
I do not think you understand
what kind of woman I become
when I genuinely love someone.
It is not casual with me.
It never has been.
When my heart chooses someone,
the entire architecture of my soul reorganizes itself around her existence,
as though my spirit had finally encountered
the precise celestial phenomenon
it had been unconsciously searching for
through years of emotional desolation.
Suddenly, the world becomes saturated with small things
I cannot wait to share with her.
Songs.
Sunsets.
Late-night philosophies.
Stupid jokes I know would make her laugh so hard
she momentarily forgets every sorrow she carries privately.
Moments that would feel insignificant to everyone else
but become sanctified to me
simply because she existed inside them.
That is how profoundly I love.
And honestly?
I think I am searching for the woman
who will finally stop being terrified
of receiving that kind of devotion.
Because modern love feels emotionally malnourished now.
Everyone wants intimacy
until intimacy demands vulnerability.
Everyone romanticizes depth
until depth requires them
to dismantle the emotional barricades
they spent years constructing around their hearts.
Everyone longs to be adored
without comprehending
how petrifying it actually is
to be perceived completely.
But me?
I am exhausted by superficiality.
I no longer want transient affection,
half-hearted conversations,
or connections that collapse
the moment emotional honesty enters the room.
I want the kind of love
that feels almost metaphysical in its intensity.
The kind where chemistry exists —
God, yes —
but emotional sanctuary exists too.
I want a woman
who feels safe enough with me
to let her softness survive.
A woman who can look into my eyes
and gradually realize
I am not here to manipulate her heart.
I am here to cherish it
with almost frightening intentionality.
Do you know how rare that is now?
To encounter someone
whose tenderness is genuine?
Someone who still believes
love should feel nourishing
instead of psychologically exhausting?
Because if I love you,
you will never have to question it.
You will hear it in my voice.
You will feel it in the infinitesimal ways
I instinctively gravitate toward you.
The unconscious reaching for your hand in public.
The way my eyes search for you first in crowded rooms.
The way my entire demeanor softens
the moment your laughter enters the atmosphere.
I would look at you
like the universe exercised extraordinary precision
when it created you.
And yes…
I would desire you deeply.
But never carelessly.
I think women deserve to feel worshipped
without feeling objectified.
I want to kiss you
with agonizing patience.
The kind of kiss
that begins playful
and slowly transforms into something
capable of dismantling rational thought entirely.
The kind where your breathing changes subtly
because your body realizes before your mind does
that you are emotionally safe with me.
I want to stand behind you at the mirror,
slide my hands around your waist,
press my mouth gently against your shoulder,
and watch your entire nervous system soften
beneath affection that carries no ulterior motive.
And God…
The eye contact would annihilate me.
Because there is something dangerously intimate
about a woman holding your gaze
while silently confessing
that she wants you too.
Not temporarily.
Not recreationally.
But profoundly.
I think that is what I crave most.
Mutual yearning.
Not emotional asymmetry.
Not constantly proving my worth.
Not begging to be chosen by someone
incapable of recognizing the magnitude
of being loved correctly.
I want a woman
whose soul meets mine halfway.
A woman who rereads my messages.
Who smiles involuntarily when my name illuminates her screen.
Who wants to know the obscure details of my mind
simply because they belong to me.
I want romance so sincere
it humiliates cynicism.
I want to flirt with you in bookstores.
Dance with you atrociously in the kitchen.
Pull you into my lap during movies
because proximity to you suddenly becomes indispensable.
I want us laughing breathlessly at two in the morning
after conversations that accidentally evolved into confessions.
Tell me your fears.
Tell me what still hurts.
Tell me the experiences that convinced you
love was conditional.
And let me become the woman
who finally disproves that devastation gently.
Because I know what it feels like
to love people
who only wanted consumable fragments of me.
People who admired my resilience
but became intimidated by my emotional profundity.
People who enjoyed being adored
without understanding
that my loyalty was never casual.
I do not want that anymore.
I want reciprocity.
I want someone emotionally intelligent enough
to comprehend the sacred enormity
of being loved by a woman
who still believes in tenderness
despite everything she has survived.
And if I ever become yours…
I swear you will feel adored
in ways that permanently recalibrate
your understanding of intimacy itself.
I will memorize your moods.
I will study the cadence of your silence.
I will notice when your smile becomes performative.
I will kiss the parts of you
life convinced were difficult to love.
I will remind you relentlessly
that softness is not fragility.
And every single day,
through ordinary moments invisible to everyone else,
I will ensure you feel chosen.
Not tolerated.
Not temporary.
Chosen.
Because the truth is…
I am not searching for “someone.”
I am searching for her.
The woman who reads this
and feels something ancient ache quietly inside her chest.
The woman who convinced herself
she no longer desired profound love
because disappointment exhausted her spirit.
The woman who still secretly longs
to be looked at
like she is utterly irreplaceable.
The woman who craves emotional intimacy
so catastrophic in its beauty
that it transforms both people permanently.
Her.
I want her.
And if our souls ever finally collide
after years of wandering through emotional wilderness—
I will spend the rest of my life
making certain
she never questions
whether she is deeply, devastatingly,
and unequivocally loved.
