Christina

“Mommy, Mommy!” Is all she heard as she ran away. Should she go back and help the little girl? The police were leading her away to safety, They would take care of things. “Mommy, Mommy!” The sound followed her with every footstep, Every breath, Every tear. “Mommy, Mommy!” She couldn’t see through the smoke, Couldn’t feel through the numbness, And couldn’t hear through the ringing of her ears Except the little girl’s voice “Mommy, Mommy!”
