Christmas

Christmas

Father, remembering this season is not about receiving material things
Idolness is what this attitude brings

We are suppose to be celebrating the birth of the greatest gift of all
Not be consumed by society trends of shopping malls

Lord, now I am in a place I can concentrate on you
Not overwhelmed by the traditions of Christmas I am accustomed to

God, this is a hard lesson with no gifts under the tree
All these years have my celebrating, have I not been honoring Thee

I must stay focus on the giver of the greatest gift from above
No matter what is received or not my spirit is filled with your love

Being thankful that I have everything I could ever want or need
Showing God's love by showing good deeds

We can continue to honor God by helping others
Each day through our humble service to our sisters and brothers

Christmas is not about what's under the tree
It is a time to honor Thee
