Christmas Day

It's Christmas Day

Before our feast

Sitting in the living room

While my Grandma and

My mother pours the gigantic pan of gnocchi

Into the boiling water

One by one

I hear plump plump plump

And the water ceases to boil

As I watch them

Stirring it those heavy

Potato-cheese filled macaroni

Of heaven

A meal fit for a king

The aroma of the sauce and

Basil becoming more intense

I get hungrier and hungrier

Finally

They are reah ahh

As I stare down at the scrumptious

Gnocchi and the sauce glazed over it

Then I bite in

The cheese and potato filling fills my mouth

Perfectly cooked

As I eat

I think of my favorite food

And it's Christmas Day
