Christmas Magic Faded
Christmas was everything to me when I was younger
Now there is no more magic left to fulfill my hunger
When I was small, I tried to do all that was right
For I had to be good, so my Christmas would be bright
I miss searching for Santa's sleigh throughout the night
Hoping and praying, he would not skip my house
The thought of it filled me with nerves and fright
And if he came while I was awake, I would be as quiet as a mouse
I tossed and turned in my bed, ruffling my blankets like a song
See, I was just too anxious and it was taking much too long
Christmas morning was the best day in the world
My happiness was so great, it danced and it twirled
But now I am older and the magic has faded away
Oh, what I would do, to go back and make it stay
I miss those memories oh so badly
However, they were so great, I cannot help but look back gladly.
