Church Key

Youth has inspired me still today,

Through many shapes and ways

Bambi instilled my passions right away.

By teaching things that still amaze

Me, now today.

She sang and counted all day,

To ensure I would acquire

The facts that would stay

Singing in her choir

Bambi made me who I am today

After many years of work

She told me to never give up

To work through every quirk

That when I fall to pick myself up

And remember to admire my handiwork

Through thick and thin

I could always rely on her

To tell me to do my best, with a grin

And to fix my mistakes with an assure

However, I do not know where to begin

My thanks to her is as endless as the sea

Continuous and steady

Pushing to break free

All to say to her what she knows already

That my gratitude started with a simple church key.
